About Janet
Before becoming a children’s book author, Janet Krauthamer was a pediatric occupational therapist who worked with children in a variety of settings. Through this work, she recognized the therapeutic power of books, particularly when they are funny and relatable. Janet writes stories that reflect a broad range of children’s experiences while examining universal truths of childhood.
Janet is currently an MFA student in the Writing for Children and Young Adults program at Vermont College of Fine Arts. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology from Binghamton University and her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University. Janet lives in New York City with her husband and two children. When she’s not writing, Janet enjoys painting, yoga, playing Mah-Jongg, and tap dancing.
